POLICE HAVE NOT YET CALLED THIS
A MURDER

An investigation is underway after a man was found dead at an apartment complex in Marlborough on August 3rd, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Kyleeka James says her cousin was the man who died after police say an altercation broke out inside a home at the Stone Gate Apartments in Marlboro. He was 45 years old.

“We’re just trying to really piece it together and get to the bottom of this and find out what exactly took place in the apartment,” said Kyleeka James.

James believes her cousin was killed while he was with his five-year-old son Wednesday night.

“He’s an amazing dad, he works every day, takes care of his son, has custody of his son so he tries to be the best dad that he can,” said James about her cousin who died.

So far the Middlesex County DA has only called this a death investigation and hasn’t said whether this was a homicide.

“We got the phone call that we needed to get to the person’s house, that she just stabbed my cousin,” said James.

Officers were called to the apartment around 10:30 Wednesday night.

Police say another person was also taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to be okay.

Neighbors were shocked to see the crime scene at such a quiet apartment complex.

So far no arrests have been made.

“Justice needs to be served here, doesn’t matter his background or what he did,” said James.

James says her cousin did have a criminal background, but she hopes police still take his death seriously and investigate whether this was indeed a murder.

“He paid his time for the crimes that he committed, so this shouldn’t define who he is or how his life has ended,” said James.

Police have not identified the man who died yet.

Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Marlborough Police are currently investigating the incident.
